Learn More About Me
Hello, I’m Lori – and I’m really glad you’re considering therapy.
My own journey into therapy began after navigating some challenging times in my life. With the support of a compassionate therapist, I was able to start rewriting my story and reconnecting with who I truly am.
It was during that experience that I realised I wanted to offer others the same kind of supportive space. Since then, I’ve loved every step of the journey towards becoming a therapist.
Before retraining, I spent 20 years as a hairdresser, a career that taught me how to connect with people from all walks of life. That experience has shaped my warm, down-to-earth, and open-minded approach to therapy.
I have a particular passion for working with relationships, whether that’s between partners, within families, or the relationship you have with yourself. I use a Transactional Analysis approach, which is a brilliant, easy-to-understand model that helps bring awareness to patterns and dynamics in our lives.
I offer both in-person and online sessions, and am happy to work in a hybrid way if that suits your needs. Sessions are available weekly or fortnightly, depending on what feels right for you.
My practice is based at Holyrood Business Park, EH16 4AP, on the east side of Edinburgh. It’s a beautiful, calm, and cosy space with free parking.
When working with couples or anyone exploring relationship dynamics, my approach is warm, down-to-earth, and actively engaged. I’m not the kind of therapist who sits back in silence, I’ll be right there with you in the conversation. I ask thoughtful, sometimes challenging questions that help bring underlying patterns to the surface, always with care and kindness.
Therapy with me is a collaborative process. I aim to create a space where people feel heard, respected, and safe to be open. I’m gently direct, and not afraid to explore the more difficult or messy parts of what’s going on, because that’s often where the most meaningful change begins. Clients often tell me they feel at ease quickly, and appreciate that sessions feel real, conversational, and productive.
Whether you're navigating conflict, disconnection, or simply want to strengthen your relationship, I’ll support you in finding greater understanding, deeper connection, and a clearer way forward.
